Heather C. Steinmeyer is President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Trademark Association (INTA). In her role as President, Ms. Steinmeyer serves as Chair of the Executive Committee. She is also Lead Counsel for Intellectual Property at WellPoint, Inc., a Fortune 50 insurance and healthcare company headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
Prior to serving her current term as a vice president, Ms. Steinmeyer served as treasurer and chair of the Finance Committee in 2006, was Vice President in 2007-2008, President Elect in 2009, a member of the Board of Directors from 2002 – 2004 and since 2006, and has served on the Planning, Nominating, Executive, External Affairs, Meetings and Regular Member Committees, along with related project teams and speaker roles. Ms. Steinmeyer also led the Task Force on the Internationalization of INTA Publications, appointed in 2005 to explore ways in which INTA can become a provider of choice for world-class trademark publications to non-U.S. audiences.
At WellPoint, Inc. Ms. Steinmeyer is responsible for protection and development of corporate IP processes and assets, including trademarks. Before joining WellPoint, Inc., Ms. Steinmeyer’s experience included serving as Senior Brand Counsel for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, and as a partner with the firm of Bell, Boyd and Lloyd in Chicago, focusing on competition law and intellectual property prosecution, licensing and litigation. |
